Calvin Klein Collection A/W 09/10... .Does anyone else think this looks rather 90s?

Hoping this is a trend that won't blow up!!...

Trend Alert! No pants!

Lady Gaga, has been earning a lot of attention lately, for her pants - free ensembles.... http://www.showbizspy.com/article/181948/lady-gaga-i-wear-no-pants-so-my-grandma-can-see-me

But does it look like the trend might be catching on?.....

Last night at Erin Wasson's presentation of her collection for RVCA.. there were a couple of looks that seemed a little Gagaesque!...

More favourite things.... from Marc by Marc Jacobs....

... yesterday after his show,Marc was reported to have said that he was trying to make "fashion fun" again.....
This is also "fun" AND I would wear it.

Stella?... is it you?

I'm pretty sure that this is kiwi model (but citizen of the world), Stella Maxwell at Bodkin, a new, eco-principled label from a former teen Vogue staffer.
Can someone confirm the ID !

Slip-ups with the birth certificate??

In the top two images, Monika trips during New York Fashion Week

The 3rd & 4th images are taken from Jalouse last year

The last image is from the Hermes Campaign that she scored, aged only 13!

How did this girl go from 14 years old to 18 in just one year?.. You do the maths...

Monika_Jagaciak nick-named "Jac" by her agency, IMG, has so far been the break out star of New York Fashion Week.

Named top 10 newcomer by models.com, she has already walked all the show that are worth walking in NY
Her showlist in NY so far reads like a dream:
BCBG Max Azria
Donna Karan
Herve Leger
Jonathan Saunders
Marc Jacobs
Rag & Bone
Rodarte
Marc by Marc Jacobs

But last year, she was in the news for all the wrong reasons: a fuss was created in the Australian Press over plans to feature her as the "face" of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

READ BELOW for an article from news.com.au from last year

A FURORE has erupted over plans to put a 14-year-old model centre stage at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

Vogue magazine has refused to feature Polish teenager Monika Jagaciak, also known as Jak, in its coverage of the premier fashion week.
And Vogue editor Kirsty Clements has called for a minimum age of 16 for models starring in the event.
Fashion week organisers around the world have placed a minimum age of 16 on models following concerns over body image and exploitation of young models.
Ms Clements said yesterday: "We found out on Wednesday about Jak's age and told (Fashion Week boss) Simon Lock there was no way Vogue could be involved in promoting her.
"Jak was absolutley a potential for the cover, we were lined up to shoot her but when I discovered this week that she was 14 I was like 'ah, no way'.
"I have children who are 13 and 14 and I'm still tucking them into bed in their jim-jams.
"I just think there should be a standardized rule that specifies models should be at least 16 to participate in RAFW," she said.
The International Managment Group, which now owns and runs Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, is bringing Ms Jagaciak to Australia under its modelling arm, IMG Models.
The rising catwalk star has already appeared in advertising campaigns for top international fashion houses Hermes and Calvin Klein.
RAFW boss Mr Lock has defended the controversial move to bring her to Australia.
"Jak will be chaperoned by an agent from her mother agency (Gaga in Poland) and she is coming with the full approval of her parents, who are very switched on and extremely supportive," said Mr Lock.
"I have a 14-year-old daughter myself, so I'm well aware of the situation - we want to see these models grow and devlop through this opportunity at RAFW, not be exploited.
"Hopefully she will have a great experience and one day, when she's a world famous model, she'll think of us."
Major fashion weeks around the world including London and Sao Paolo have put a ban on models under the age of 16.
The British Fashion Council, which organises London Fashion Week last year enforced a ban on all models under 16.
And Brazil's Sao Paolo ruled all models under 16 off the catwalk in 2006.
Australian Fashion Week sets no enforcable age limit. Instead it simply has guidelines that models under 16 have written permission of their parents and be chaperoned at shows.
The Australian Fashion Council has also slammed the decision by Australian Fashion Week to tout the Jagaciak as a star of fashion week.
Jo Kellock, acting general manager of Australian Fashion Council, said a model of that age would be better suited to modelling children's clothes.
"You have to question whether a 14-year-old has the emotional maturity and is rational enough to be in this world," Mrs Kellock said.
The Australian Family Association has also joined the chorus of criticism.
"Being thrown into that highly ciritical environment at such a young age can't be good for a young girls development especially consdering the prevalence of body issues in young women today," said Australian Family Association spokesman Jerome Appleby.

Her birthday is January 15 1994 which can be seen here (in Polish but obvious anyway) http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/, which makes her 15 right now, but IMG seem to have aged her by 3 years...

Here is a recent article from Interview magazine just prior to new York fashion Week, in which her age is listed as 18...

I think she is a beautiful girl who walks and photographs amazingly, a true star, but concealing her true age ??? What do you think?

Thank God for Rodarte...

I'm fizzing right now having just seen the first few glimpses of Rodarte....How do they do it?... they take the thoughts and ideas flying round in the world right now and turn them into wearable beauty,... but still recognisably with that Rodarte signature...

The collection for this season feels more organic, less punk, less severe... quite earthy, moss and lavender and clay tones, very painterly.

The amaaazing strappy leather pants (I'm saving for these now!) and the thigh-length boots still have that Rodarte punk edge, with their strapping and buckling, but in the muted earthy colours of grey, they are more elegant and grown up.

The knits are still there too... shaggy and also more organic, (quite reminiscent of New Zealand's young talent, Alex Jaeha)

Ok.. I'm in love with this... there isn't any peice that i don't like.

What do you think?

Things I like # 3....

These are two very different collections: Y3's dark, tailored, casual everyday wear and Betsey Johnson's playful OTT looks... but I really love them both equally.
The Y3 collection shows gorgeous pieces that I would buy and wear, always feel great in and never feel over dressed.. I especially love the military inspired pieces, the sequined beanie, and the navy wool dress... the kids wear is pretty great too.

The Betsey Johnson Collection is on a different plane and is completely Betsey.....
But I would do ANYTHING!!! to get my hands on either or both the light blue or white knit skirt or the knitted short suit (not for me of course....).

Marc Jacobs #3 (Things I don't like.........)

Ummmmmm... I think I'll just let these looks speak for themselves...!!??

More things I like today .....

Ok, maybe I was a little hasty when I said that, despite loving the energy and spirit of the collection, I wouldn't WEAR any of the clothes at Marc Jacobs today....

On closer inspection , there are several peices that I like VEEEEERY much and would buy, fawn over and wear...

The tights and eyewear in the first and second pic and also the two dresses and their accompanying hairdos in the third and fourth pics are also mighty fine!!!

Is it Dynasty?...Is it Gloss?... no it's Marc Jacobs Fall /Winter 09

Wow!! I'm a huge Marc Jacobs fan, and especially loved last season's collection, so anticipation was high...
Maybe I should have been warned by the Stephen Sprouse grafitti bags for Louis Vuitton... but Marc has gone all 80's punk and power suits!!

OK.. on the plus side....(1)...it's not gloomy and recessionista, (2).. I love the excellent and very cool hair and makeup... (3).... I adore the casting, some of my favourite girls were there: Natasa V and Lara Stone (who closed the show!)...

But on the downside, well I won't be wearing clothes like this... maybe the hair..? maybe the studs..?,.. but no shoulder pads or power wear of any sort!

Overall.. my initial impression is that I adore the joie de vivre of this show and love the overall message of a return to individuality, flair and adventurous characters in fashion!
More thoughts later when I've had time to see the full show...
